OPST 12ft Sink Tips - Dual Density Tips for Two-Handed Switch and Spey Rods

Our 10 foot Commando Tips are ideal for rods 10-12 feet in length. They come in three weights: 80, 110, and 140 grains total (8, 11, and 14 grains per foot).

Each weight of our 10 foot Commando Tips comes in three different sink rates: Riffle, Run, and Bucket. The 80 Grain series comes in S2, S4, and S6 sink rates, while the 110 and 140 Grain series come in S3 (Riffle), S6 (Run), and S9 (Bucket).

Our 80 Grain series (S2, S4, S6) is best for 2-weight to 6-weight spey rods. These tips are optimized for switch rods but work well on spey and single-hand rods too.

The 110 Grain series is ideal for 6-weight to 8-weight switch rods, or for Commando Heads in the 275-375 grain range.

Our 140 Grain Commando Tips are designed for heavier rods from 7-weight switch to 9/10-weight spey rods, or for Commando Heads in the 375-475 grain range.

If you're having difficulty with your cast, try going down in tip size. Sometimes a lighter tip can improve casting performance.

Our 12 Foot Commando Tips work best on rods from 10 to 14 feet in length.

Like our 10 foot tips, these come in 8, 11, and 14 grains per foot, which equals 96, 132, and 168 grains total. Each weight has Riffle, Run, and Bucket options.

These tips feature dual density construction—the rear half sinks at one inch per second slower rate than the front half. This reduces the "belly effect" in your line, giving you a more direct connection to the fish and potentially increasing hookups.

Our 96 grain Commando Tips are ideal for 4-weight switch to 6-weight spey rods, or for Commando Heads in the 225-300 grain range. The 96 Grain Riffle tip is an S2/3, the Run is an S3/4, and the Bucket is an S5/6.

The 132 grain tips work best for rods from 6-weight spey to 8-weight switch, or for Commando Heads in the 325-400 grain range. The Riffle is S2/3, the Run is S5/6, and the Bucket is S8/9.

Our 168 grain tips are designed for 7-weight to 9-weight spey rods, or for Commando Heads in the 375-475 grain range. They have the same sink rates as the 132 grain tips: Riffle (S2/3), Run (S5/6), and Bucket (S8/9).
