The Lightest SR at 10'10". The Most Surprising Cast.

The ECHO SR Switch 10'10" #6 Fly Rod is the lightest and most refined rod in the 10'10" SR Switch range — and for trout Spey anglers who want fast action performance without the weight of a heavier outfit, it may be the most exciting switch rod ECHO makes at this length. At just 190g, it is featherlight for a 10'10" rod, yet the fast action blank delivers the loop control, precision, and reach that transforms how you fish UK and European trout rivers.

This is the rod for anglers who have mastered their Spey casting timing and want to bring fast action performance to the rivers they love most — without stepping up to a heavier line weight. At €529, it is a serious performance rod that rewards skill and delivers results.

UK Rivers — Brown Trout & Light Sea Trout

On the celebrated brown trout rivers of northern England — the Eden, the Wharfe, the Ribble, and the Derbyshire Wye — the SR Switch #6 opens up a world of elegant, efficient river fishing that a single-handed rod simply cannot access. The 10'10" length gives you the reach to mend line across complex currents, swing wet flies through the productive lies, and execute roll casts and single Spey casts in the confined spaces that define so much of English river fishing.

On the smaller sea trout rivers of Wales and Scotland — the Dyfi, the Conwy, the west Highland spate rivers — the #6 line weight keeps the presentation refined and the tippet fine, giving you the delicacy to fish effectively on clear, low water when sea trout are at their most wary.

European Rivers — Brown Trout, Trout Spey & Scandi Style

Across Europe, the SR Switch #6 is the rod for the rivers that reward a light touch. On the brown trout rivers of Austria, Bavaria, and the Czech Republic, the fast action loads Scandi shooting heads with a crispness and efficiency that transforms the experience of fishing these beautiful waters. On the limestone rivers of Slovenia and northern Italy, and the chalk streams of northern Germany, the 10'10" length gives you the reach to cover water that would otherwise require wading — protecting the fish and the fishing.

On the larger Scandinavian trout rivers where the Scandi style was born, the SR Switch #6 is in its natural element — fast, precise, and deeply satisfying to cast.

Fast Action at #6 — A Rare Thing

Fast action rods at #6 are uncommon, and the SR Switch delivers something genuinely distinctive — the speed and precision of a performance blank in a line weight that keeps the fishing intimate and the presentation delicate. It rewards anglers who have developed their timing, and it will change how you think about trout Spey and brown trout fishing on a switch rod.

Pair it with a light Scandi shooting head in the 270–330gr range or a dedicated switch line for all-round versatility across mixed beats and varying conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the ECHO SR Switch 10'10" #6?

The ECHO SR Switch 10'10" (308cm) #6 is the lightest rod in the 10'10" SR Switch range. It is a fast action two-handed switch rod weighing approximately 190g, designed for brown trout and light sea trout fishing on UK and European rivers. It is the most refined and delicate rod in the 10'10" SR Switch lineup.

How does the #6 compare to the #5 and #7 in the SR Switch series?

The #5 (10'8") is the more intimate rod, suited to smaller rivers and the most delicate presentations. The #6 (10'10") steps up with slightly more length and versatility, covering a wider range of UK and European trout rivers. The #7 (10'10") adds further power for sea trout and more demanding conditions. The #6 is the choice for anglers who want fast action performance in a light line weight on medium-sized rivers.

What rivers is the ECHO SR Switch #6 suited to?

The #6 SR Switch is ideally suited to the brown trout rivers of northern England (Eden, Wharfe, Ribble, Derbyshire Wye), the smaller sea trout rivers of Wales and Scotland (Dyfi, Conwy, west Highland spate rivers), and the brown trout rivers of Austria, Bavaria, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Scandinavia. It excels wherever a fast action, light line weight, and long reach are the priority.

What is the difference between the SR Switch and the Swing Switch at #6?

The Swing Switch #6 (11'6") is a medium fast action rod — longer, smoother, and more forgiving, designed for trout Spey and grayling fishing and ideal as a first two-handed rod. The SR Switch #6 (10'10") is a fast action performance rod — shorter, crisper, and more demanding, designed for experienced casters who want precision and loop control. Choose the Swing Switch for accessibility and length; choose the SR Switch for fast action performance.

Is the ECHO SR Switch 10'10" #6 available with worldwide shipping?

Yes — the ECHO SR Switch 10'10" #6 is available from Balticflyfisher with worldwide shipping. Balticflyfisher is your specialist source for UK and European trout Spey and brown trout fly fishing tackle.

Further Details

Fast actions and versatile sizes make the SR series the best rod for two-handed fly casters that prefer a shorter rod. The #3-5 models are ideal for trout and sseatrout everywhere, while the #6-8 handle larger anadromous fish with authority. Slick cosmetics and bombproof componentry help solidify the SR as the fishiest switch rod on the water.

Care

Rajeff Sports would like your ECHO experience to be a good one and we ask that you take care of your equipment with the following regular maintenance:

Try to keep sand and dirt out of the ferrules. Occasionally use a few drops of any reel oil or grease on the reel seat threads to keep it operating smoothly. Ski wax can also be used on the ferrules if needed to ensure a proper fit.

Do not use tape on your ferrules.

Action/Power Comparison Chart

Action vs Power Comparison

The Action vs. Power matrix is used for comparison between ECHO rod models. Utilizing this chart, you’ll be able to choose an ECHO rod that best fits you and your personal casting stroke. The vertical axis indicates the rod’s power, while the horizontal axis indicates the rod’s action. In simple terms, single-hand rod action is derived from the top half of the rod, while power is derived from the bottom half.

Action:
Fast action rods feature softer tips than medium action rods and provide a ‘stiffer’ feel. Fast action rods excel in the hands of anglers with more aggressive casting strokes and greater stroke control. Medium action rods are ideal for anglers with more fluid casting strokes and have a larger ‘sweet spot’ for a wider range of casting strokes. Consistently throwing a tailing loop? Your rod’s action may not be a good fit to you and your casting stroke.

Power:
A rod’s power is its resistance to flexing under load. Powerful rods are ‘beefier’ through the bottom half, generate higher line speeds, and are more adept at keeping big fish pinned. Delicate rods are more presentation-oriented, protect light tippet, and are a better choice for picky fish.
